Dr. Fu is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Team Science at the Center for Translational AI Excellence and Applications in Medicine (TEAM-AI), University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is also a Full Associate Member at UTHealth Institute on Aging, Aging Informatics Scientist with the Network for Investigation of Delirium: Unifying Scientists, and Research Collaborator at Mayo Clinic, Division of Epidemiology. The overarching goal of his research is to accelerate, improve and govern the secondary use of EHR data for clinical and translational research toward high throughput, reproducible, fair, and trustworthy discoveries with extensive informatics research experience in (1) developing machine learning and natural language processing techniques for clinical computational phenotyping, (2) assessing RWD data quality, bias, and heterogeneity, and (3) designing and developing informatics frameworks for clinical research workflow optimization. In this ReCARDO U24 project, he will contribute to RWD wrangling, NLP development and implementation, and data quality assessment.
