Biography

Dr. Cui, Associate Professor in UTHealth Houston’s McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics, will serve as an MPI. She has strong research background in knowledge representation and reasoning, ontologies and controlled vocabularies, large-scale clinical data integration and management, big data analytics, text mining, and neuroinformatic. Dr. Cui has been the PI of NIH NLM R01 project “Biomedical Terminology Quality Assurance for Enhancing Clinical Queries over Electronic Health Records” (R01LM013335), PI for NIH NINDS R01 project “An informatics framework for SUDEP Risk Marker Identification and Risk Assessment” (R01NS116287), and PIs for NIA-funded interface ontologies for Alzheimer's disease and for Cancer Registries (R21AG068994, PI Cui; R21CA231904, MPIs Cui and Zhang). She was the 2022 recipient of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) New Investigator Award. For ReCARDO, she will be jointly responsible for scientific leadership with other MPIs. She will, with Dr. Zhang, co-lead the effort on AD-CDE development. She will contribute to the effort on AD-CDE extraction from RWD in NIA-funded studies, and rigor reproducibility of CDE-incorporated data.
